Last October, The Museum of Early Southern Decorative Arts (MESDA) in Old Salem hosted a Saturday Seminar titled Mapping the Early South. It was flat out superb. On Saturday, September 11, 2010, MESDA will have another map-themed program. It will be the first in a series of Saturday Seminars dedicated to Early State Maps, with preliminary plans for the September 11 event to focus on early state maps of Virginia, North Carolina, and Tennessee.
If this sounds of interest to you, please mark the date on your calendar. The program is still in the planning stages. Once the fine folks at MESDA have finalized their plans, I will post program details and registration information on the William P. Cumming Map Society web site.
Best regards,
